Red Thread Pictures along with Raleigh-based Uptone Pictures shined the night of January 15 at the red carpet premiere of Union Bound in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Marquee Cinema. The Herald-Sun‘s, Cliff Bellamy said in his article that the premiere night “was an equal mix of red carpet ritual, history lesson, and family reunion.”
#UnionBound will hit theaters worldwide on April 22, 2016 and tells the true story of Union soldier Joseph Hoover (played by actor Sean Stone). The former New York farmer was captured by Confederate forces and taken to Andersonville, a notorious Southern prison camp. However, Hoover escaped and found his way back to Union-held territory with the help of slaves.
Stone, also the son of famed director, Oliver Stone, gave an excellent performance alongside his co-stars Randi Wayne and Tank Jones.
This is a big year for Red Thread Pictures as this movie is one of five feature films that will be releasing throughout the year.
